ManHole is a single channel video installation. As if unearthed from beneath the surface of our perceptions, this piece exposes what is hidden, what shames us. Constructed from a 50 gallon drum cut into a tube and framed with 1/2 inch steel, ManHole is sunken in the ground and formed with concrete. Once set, it is ripped from the ground and installed in the gallery space. A green monochromatic monitor is suppended in the hole with green light spilling out of the top and bottom. The video montages broadcasts time shifted events from our culture. No Sound.
